Anything You Want

  • 1 - What do you think the global average temperature is?  This means the average for everywhere on Earth, day and night, for an entire year.  Explain why you answered what you did.
Probably somewhere around 42 degrees, because there's places on Earth that are extremely hot and then extremely cold, and those balance out.

  • 2 - People are often talking about "global warming."  How much do you think the average global temperature has increased in the past 100 years?  Do you think that this is a lot?
Probably 10 degrees 15 maybe. Yes that's a lot.

  • 3 - What do you think is the hottest the Earth has ever been? (since there has been an atmosphere?)  How about the coldest the Earth has ever been?  Explain why you answered what you did.
Now and probably 5 degrees. Now because of all the new cars and how many people drive and all the factories. Back when there was the last ice age it was probably cold everywhere.

  • 4 - Are you concerned about "global warming?"  Why or why not?
  • Yeah because once the atmosphere is gone the sun can get its harmful rays to us and we'll all die of skin cancer or radiation poison.

Question 4

The amount of rainfall appears to affect whether a soil is a grassland or a forest soil because with more rainfall, it will be a forest soil. Forest soil gets enough rain to support trees being grown. Grassland soil only gets enough rain to support growing grass. Obviously you need more rain to grow bigger things like trees and other big plants. Therefore that is how rain determines if the soil is grassland or forest.
